Artist Statement
I don’t know if I chose art or it chose me, but it is my passion and my  healer.  I consider myself a mixed media experimental artist and no matter what the medium, the challenge is always there along with the infinite possibilities and the versatility that I crave.
I began painting southwest landscapes in oils and watercolors over sixteen years ago.  My love of nature, happy themes and bold color dominated these earlier works.  The incorporation of collage, printmaking, image transfer, photography and transparency film took my work in another direction. The process became more important than the end result… as did things symbolic, non-referential, abstract and architectural. I began to let go and tap into my own intuitive reservoir.
I like to play with the idea of choices and their consequences – urban sprawl and its impact on our environment, man in relationship to nature and spirituality, and transitions from darkness into light. I create my own unique architecture – with an outcome often surreal, mysterious, and somewhat provocative.
